- Helpful Hints
- -------------
-
- If you don't like using the <CTRL> & <SHIFT> keys
- to control your viewing of the output, you can
- easily record the screens output by loading the
- printer driver, !Printers.
- This can be used to directly the output to the
- printer, or more usefully, the 'connection...' can
- be altered to print the output to a FILE.
- The sequence of events to be able to do this are
- as follows:-
-
- 1. Load the Printer Driver, !Printers.
-
- 2. Configure the output of !Printers, ie. select
- either Parallel, Serial, FILE, etc.
-
- 3. Click on the !Movie Application.
-
- 4. Before typing in an actor's name, film title,
- etc. press <CTRL><B> (to turn ON the printer
- driver - <CTRL><C> turns it off again...).
-
- 5. Use !Movie as normal, but when you've finished
- press <CTRL><C> and <Escape><Escape> to get you back
- to the Desktop where you should see your printer
- Output file (if you selected 'File').
-
- 6. Load this file into !Edit, replace all [0d]'s
- with [0a]'s, (using Find {f4} with Magic
- Characters selected, finding \x0d and replacing them
- with \x0a - click on 'End Of File Replace {f5}').
-
- 7. Save this file and change the filetype to 'Text'.
-
- 8. Peruse this file at your leisure as you would any
- other Text file.
-
-
- Alternatively
- -------------
- Using RiscOS 3.10, a 'Task' can be started by
- pressing <CTRL><f12> whereby a window appears with a
- command line prompt.
- At this prompt, select whichever filing system
- !Movie is located, ie. *RAM<RETURN> if it has been
- copied into the RAM filing system.
- Then just type *RUN !Movie<RETURN> and the program
- will run in a window from within the Desktop.
- Again, all outputs can be saved as a Text file for
- later use.
